Genuine

It’s okay to be honest right now. Of course, not mean. But genuine is good. If God gives you a good day, be honest about it, enjoy it, and say thanks. If it’s really hard, be honest about that too, endure, and ask for help.

God doesn’t mind. He likes it when we’re genuine.

Say what’s on your heart. Lay out what’s great and what’s bothering you. If it helps, write it out, and then talk to God about each of them. Let that be the start of your day. He loves to hear what’s on your heart.

Then wait expectantly. Listen to God’s words in the Bible where he shows you his own heart. He’s genuine. The one who gave his Son for you loves you, he hears you, and he’ll do what he knows is best.

Because he genuinely cares. He cares for you. You can talk to him.

“Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly” (Psalm 5:1-3).

We'd love to hear from you.
