In-person Corporate Worship Procedures & Guidelines

 

The state of Idaho is now in Stage 4 of Reopening, which means gatherings of any size are permitted, provided they adhere to physical distancing and sanitization requirements.

 

What follows is the updated plan for Cross of Christ to do so, developed and approved by the Cross of Christ Council and pastoral staff.

While the execution will look slightly different, the elements of this plan apply to both the Boise campus and the worship site in North Nampa (where we have collaborated with the owners of JaK*s Place to meet their expectations as well).

 

Note: Please DO NOT feel obligated to attend in-person worship before you are ready! If you belong to a vulnerable population or remain concerned about group gatherings, please worship at home in peace.

Four in-person services are offered weekly.

Boise:
Saturday - 6:30 pm
Sunday - 8:30 & 11:00 am
Adult/Teen Bible Study and Children’s Sunday School, Sunday - 9:45 am

North Nampa, at JaK*s Place:
Sunday - 9:30 am
Family Bible Study, Sunday - 8:45 am

Worship and Christian Education resources will continue to be provided digitally. 

 

Health, Safety, & Sanitization
  • No changes to parking or building entry.
  • Attendees are asked to observe physical distancing (minimum six feet) between members of different households at all times. Parents are responsible for their children.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available at both locations.
  • As per CDC guidelines, face coverings are recommended indoors for non-fully-vaccinated individuals.
  • Leave two empty seats between households; do not sit directly behind another person. Ushers will be glad to assist with spacing if needed.
  • Printed worship folders are not needed, as all service content is projected on-screen, but are available for those who prefer to have one. The worship folders will be available in the lobby but not distributed. Offering plates will be available in the lobby.
  • Fellowshiping is permitted in the facility, with proper distancing. 
  • Designated personnel will sanitize surfaces in the sanctuary, restrooms, and lobby following each service.

Boise:
Saturday - 6:30 pm
Sunday - 8:30 & 11:00 am

North Nampa, at JaK*s Place:
Sunday - 9:30 am
Family Bible Study, Sunday - 8:45 am

 

Children's Sunday School at Boise:

  • 9:45-10:45 am, Sundays
  • Ages 2 through 6th grade
  • All students will meet & learn together in the gym with a variety of activities.
  • Because no children are vaccinated, we’ll continue to  follow West Ada School District guidelines and require masks for Sunday school students & staff on the Boise campus, through the end of the modified school year or until the School District policy changes, whichever comes first.
  • Temperatures will be taken & hands sanitized at the gym entrance.
  • Physical distancing will be observed as much as is possible and effort made to minimize shared supplies (markers, etc.).
  • Surfaces will be sanitized each week.

Christian Education resources will also continue to be delivered to parents digitally.

 

Online worship continues to be offered.

 

Communion will be distributed by continuous-line distribution on the first and third weekends of each month. This allows for appropriate distancing of participants. You are welcome to contact a pastor to set up a time for private communion as well.

 

Worship Protocols

Physical Distancing 

Those attending in-person worship are asked to always maintain a minimum of six feet between themselves (members of their household) and other households.

Parking & Building Entry: no change, on either side of the building.

 

Seating in the sanctuary

  • You may choose where to sit, appropriately distancing yourselves as follows:
    • Leave at least two empty seats between households
    • No one should sit directly behind another person. All seats immediately in front of all members of your household should be empty.
    • Ushers will be on hand to assist with spacing if needed.

Leaving the sanctuary

  • Exit to the lobby as usual.
  • Anyone who wishes to avoid the lobby may exit through the back corner doors of the sanctuary.
  • Please be patient and maintain proper distancing.

Fellowship after the service is permitted with these stipulations:

  • Each household should maintain the appropriate distance from other members.
    • Parents are responsible for their children.
    • Please be mindful of those performing the cleaning & sanitizing tasks after each service.
    • Feel free to continue socializing outside the building as the start time for the next service or Bible study draws near.

 

Health, Safety, & Sanitization Protocols

Personal Health & Safety
  • As per CDC guidelines, face coverings are recommended indoors for non-fully-vaccinated individuals. Masks are available at both worship locations. Please treat each person’s decisions regarding their personal health with loving respect.
  • Follow basic CDC guidelines: Wash/sanitize your hands regularly, avoid touching your face, and cover coughs/sneezes/etc.
  • Hand sanitizing stations and tissues will be available in the lobby.
  • If you feel ill or suspect you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home and use our online worship resources.
Facility Cleanliness & Sanitization

The offering plates will not be passed during worship but will be located on tables in the lobby before & after the service.

 

Coffee is available in the lobby; make use of sanitizer before serving yourself and observe distancing at the coffee bar.

 

Should more worshipers attend than can be safely spaced in the sanctuary, the ushers will have sanitized plastic chairs at the ready to space appropriately in the lobby.

 

Following each service, all high-touch surfaces in the lobby, sanctuary, and bathrooms will be cleaned with CDC-recommended products, including but not limited to:

  • Bathroom faucet handles, countertops, toilet seats & handles, changing tables, stall door knobs, main door handles
  • Lobby coffee tables, countertops, light switches, door handles, greeter tables
  • Sanctuary light switches, door handles (internal & external)
