Daffodils

It was pretty dreary in the valley this morning. Dark and cloudy. And yet, the daffodils are blooming in the flower beds outside. They didn’t wait for us to ask or even be aware, they just started blooming. There are some things outside of us that happen no matter what. And it’s kind of nice to know that daffodils still bloom, even when it’s dreary.

All the concerns and extra precautions surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak sort of feel like a dark and dreary cloud that just hangs over us. But be sure to look beyond it. There are things outside of us that happen whether we ask or are even aware. Like daffodils quietly blooming outside, God is here. He’s watching. He’s guiding and protecting in the background. He won’t forget about you. He still loves you, even when it’s been a really dreary day.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121

Btw, did you notice the sun came out?

We'd love to hear from you.
