The curriculum at Cross of Christ is focused on providing your child with developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
Kindergarten readiness
We focus on making sure our students are ready for Kindergarten by providing instruction in:
- Language Arts
- Creative Play
- Daily Bible Stories
- Memorization
- Math & Science
- Arts & Crafts
- Fine Motor Skills (use of writing, craft tools)
- Gross Motor Skills (indoor/outdoor play)
- Music & Movement
- Social Development
- Community Awareness
Our curriculum also includes Zoophonics. This movement-based approach is an excellent method for teaching children letters and their sounds.
To help your child learn to write, Cross of Christ Preschool uses Learning Without Tears. This hands-on program teaches children to learn their letters in an enjoyable way as they work with wood pieces, clay, and drawing.
We use Heggerty for phonemic and phonological awareness. These short daily lessons playfully use hand motions and echo responses to teach rhyming, sound isolation, and syllable blending to build the foundation for reading.

Our Bible curriculum is Cross Connections for Early Learners, which allows families to reinforce the weekly Bible story at home using a colorful take-home page with ideas for connections and applications. We greatly value that home / school connection, and we also invite families to join us for weekly preschool chapel services based on this curriculum and conducted by our pastoral staff!
