Rest

The Saturday of the world’s first week, God rested from his creating work.

The Saturday of Holy Week, Jesus rested from his saving work.

God cares about rest, and he wants us to get our rest. Not just sleep for our bodies, but especially rest for our souls.

What are your burdens? What are your sorrows? What heavy loads are you carrying? Come to the cross. Jesus came to bear our suffering for us. He came to remove your guilt and shame forever. He came so you can take a deep breath and know it’s going to be okay. He came so your soul can rest—have some rest now, and rest forever in heaven.

We hope you get some rest with your family this weekend. We also pray that your soul finds rest in Jesus, who laid in the tomb for you.

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him” (Psalm 62:1).

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

Have a happy Easter!

We'd love to hear from you.
