Feeling frustrated? There are plenty of reasons to be annoyed lately or downright upset. From a personal to a nation level, things can be pretty frustrating. Why does it need to be this way?
Did you know that God chose to make the world frustrating? Ever since his creation was ruined, he subjected it to frustration. Why? So that we might have hope.
God gets how frustrating it is. Jesus was treated unjustly, falsely accused, hurt, lied about, and he dealt with really awful stuff during his life on this earth. And he wants us to long for something better. He wants us to never put our hope in this world, but set our hearts on the one he’s making. One that’s waiting for us.
This world is disappointing. Heaven is glory. Creation is subject to sin. Heaven is perfect. This world is passing away. Heaven is forever.
When you’re frustrated, remember that God lets it be this way—for now. So we don’t forget this isn’t our home. So we put our hope in something better.
Liberation is coming.
“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God” (Romans 8:20-21).
