What to Do with Your Anxiety

If you are anxious, if you are worried, if you feel tense inside and don’t know how to make it go away, please read this.

Anxiety doesn’t have to control you. It doesn’t need to weigh you down and keep you awake at night. God doesn’t want you to have to have bear it alone.

What do you do with your anxiety? There are spiritual, emotional, and behavioral components to anxiety. All of them are important. If you find you can’t manage it on your own, God wants you to rely on people, like professional counselors, who can walk you through it.

But most of all, God wants to help you through it. He tells you to deal with your anxiety by getting good at casting. Take the pit in your stomach, the fear of the unknown, the social pressures, and anything else eating away at you, and cast it all to God. Dump it on him. Every last bit until there’s nothing left. Don’t hold back. He won’t mind. In fact, he likes to take if from you. He can handle it. He wants you to find relief. The kind of relief only he can give.

Why would he do that? Because he cares for you. A lot.

“Cast all your anxiety on [God] because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

P.S. If you are struggling with anxiety and find it difficult to cast it on God, we invite you to get in touch with a professional counselor who will walk through this with you. You can find out more and request an appointment here.
