Is it to make enough money? Get a comfortable retirement? Travel the world? . . . ?
Those things are nice, but have you noticed that they don’t ultimately satisfy? Not in the long-term, profound way our hearts are longing for. Not when it comes to finding real meaning and purpose.
That’s because there’s a design for us as people. A design for what gives us purpose, telling us why we’re here.
What are we here for? Are you ready for it? We’re here to serve others. Really. Not to make it most comfortable for ourselves, but to be help, bless, and serve the people around us.
Which, by the way, is exactly what Jesus did for us.
Give it a try. It’s amazing. When you serve, rather than wanting to be served, you find fulfillment and purpose.
You start to realize: This is why I’m here.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10).
