People > Politics

Politics are important. They have their place. But Jesus shows us that people are and always will be far more important than winning arguments or gaining power.

Because Jesus loves people. He died for people. He saves people. People with souls.

He loved people when it was popular and when it was unpopular. When it was politically correct and when it was political suicide.

The recent Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade now allows states to choose whether they will allow or outlaw abortions. It’s a divisive issue and hugely political.

But here’s what we know. Jesus loves the unborn. He died for them, too. He’s the author of life and he hates murder.

Jesus loves sinful people, because we’re all sinful. Jesus died for every person on earth because we all need saving. That means he died for those who’ve gotten an abortion. He died for those who perform abortions. He died and came back to life so he can undo everything wrong. To forgive. He’s here to walk alongside anyone who’s struggling.

Jesus has something to say on the issue of abortion. But it’s not political. It’s about people. Because he loves and saves people.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
