Working toward equality is a tough thing. It’s because we’re all naturally selfish. We want to believe that we’re superior to someone else. In different ways, we all do this.

So how do we change that? What will lead us to see, value, and treat each other as equals?

First, it’s the humility to recognize that we’re all equally messed up. In different ways, we’ve all been so much less than the people we want to be. The people we’re supposed to be.

Second, we’re all equally love. Loved by God. So much that he gave his Son for every one of us. So we can be right with him.

God treats us as equals. Equally flawed and equally forgiven. That’s what will help us treat each other as equals.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)
