Your house. Your clothes. Your investments. Everything. You can lose it all. And eventually you will. It all perishes, spoils, and fades. And you don’t take any of it with you when life on Earth is over.
But God has an inheritance for you. Through trust in Jesus, you have the status of his child. You have a mansion in heaven. A place at the heavenly banquet. Your Father’s welcome. All the riches of God worth infinitely more than all the wealth in the world.
It’s kept in heaven for you right now.
You eventually lose (almost) everything. So give up putting your hope in (almost) everything. See the inheritance waiting for you, kept in heaven. That’s the one you will never lose. That’s reason for hope.
“In his great mercy [God] has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” (1 Peter 1:3-4)
