Guest Preacher: Mission Developer Pastor Randy Hunter
Where might we anticipate God’s blessing on planting new churches in the Treasure Valley?
That’s the question we’re asking at Cross of Christ; a third campus is in our plans for the not-so-distant future. That’s also the question the Pacific Northwest District Mission Board is asking; they would like to plant an additional church in the area. To coordinate our efforts, Mission Developer Pastor Randy Hunter has lived and breathed greater Boise for the past four months. He has met with community leaders, government officials, school district administrators, church leaders, residents, and WELS pastors and members from Mayfield Springs to Middleton, from Caldwell to Avimore, and in between. With his input, our district mission board is choosing an area and Cross of Christ will need to do the same.
In early January, Mission Counselor Pastor Matt Vogt and Pastor Hunter will work with area WELS pastors to develop recommendations for locating a third campus for Cross of Christ and locating another mission by the District Mission Board. Later in January, Pastor Hunter will present these recommendations to the people of Cross of Christ, solicit feedback, and offer an opportunity to help.
The goal is to follow Jesus’ command, “Go.” By doing so, we seek to be his instrument to build his kingdom and, ultimately, to fill heaven. More information will be coming. Meanwhile, if you would like to contact Pastor Hunter, he invites you to do so at randy.hunter@wels.net or 608-354-5856.
