Family and friends of Cross of Christ,
Emails have been sent recently from a fake account impersonating Pastor Hein. These emails say he has a message for the recipient and ask for a reply.
Do not respond to this email! If your email provider allows for it, you may report the fake message as phishing or block the sender.
When you receive a questionable email, always double-check the sender’s actual email address. Scammers often use an address similar to the real address, or one that seems reasonable at first glance.
For example:
Real email: greg.hein@cocidaho.org
Fake email (this time around): leadpastorofficial@gmail.com
If you’re not sure if a communication you receive is legitimate, contact the church office directly to inquire.
Also note that your pastors will not ever request money, gifts, or gift cards from you directly. Do not give any money or donations outside of our typical avenues for giving. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
