Emails have been sent recently with a fake account impersonating Pastor Steinbrenner. These emails are asking for favors. Your pastors will not ever request money, gifts, or gift cards from you directly!
Do not respond to this email. If your email provider allows for it, you may report the fake message as phishing or block the sender.
When you receive a questionable email, always double-check the sender’s actual email address. Scammers often use a similar email address to the real one.
For example:
Real email: john.steinbrenner@cocidaho.org
Fake email: pastorjohn.cocidaho@gmail.com
Again, do not give any money or donations outside of our typical avenues for giving. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
