Usher Request Letter

Dear Members of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church,

I am writing to encourage all of you to consider volunteering as ushers for the worship services at our Boise campus. Ushers play a vital role in the worship service by greeting and seating guests and assisting with the distribution of communion. As an usher, you would be paired with another usher and would participate in an overall rotational schedule.

As Christians, we are called to serve others and to be ambassadors for Christ. In 1 Peter 4:10, it says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Ushering is just one opportunity for the men, women, and teens at Cross of Christ to serve others with God’s grace. And it’s an important one! By volunteering as an usher, you have the opportunity to serve your church and to be a welcoming presence to those who are visiting for the first time, or the 12th time, or who have worshiped here for decades. We want everyone to feel wanted and welcomed!

Volunteering can also be a great way to get more involved in the life of the church and to build relationships with other members. Ushering is a small but meaningful way to contribute to the worship service and to make a difference for all who walk through our doors.

I hope that you will prayerfully consider volunteering as an usher and that you will join me in this important ministry. Please feel free to call or text me with any questions (208-938-0886). Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Ty Stavenau
