We’ve put in a lot of time so far. We’ve had months and months of planning, we’ve spent a fair amount of money, and we’ve been aggressively following our plan to engage our community in new ways with love, service, and education.
We’ve hosted a grief support group, a divorce support group, Love and Logic parenting seminars, mental health seminars, and Bible studies at our ministry center on Franklin Rd. We’ve put on playgroups at Optimist Park during the summer. We’ve sent out mailings and canvassed different neighborhoods to spread the word. We volunteered for the Snake River Stampede and hosted booths at community events.
And that’s just the beginning. We’ve begun worship in Nampa at JaK*s Place Neighborhood Grill. In addition to worship, we’re going to be putting in even more time, planning for months and years to come, spending a fair amount of money, and aggressively following our plan to engage our community in new ways with love, service, and education.
The reason? Because at Cross of Christ, we’ve been ridiculously blessed. We have more than we could ever ask for. It’s not just stuff. We’ve got a peace that can’t be shaken. We’ve got certainty in something real. We’ve got love and acceptance you won’t find in other places. We’ve got crazy good news that gets us out of bed in the morning ready for whatever the new day may throw at us.
Why are we starting a second church in North Nampa? The reason is the cross of Christ. The reason is a Savior named Jesus who sets us free. The reason is that we’ve got an authentic message and a welcoming community people are longing for. So we’ll keep engaging with love, service, and education. And if you engage with us, we’ll give you Jesus. We’ll give you good news. We’ll give you acceptance and a place to belong.
