Receiving and Sharing Comfort

What comfort have you received over the past few weeks? A lot has changed, and a lot of things have come into our lives that could rob joy, certainty, and peace from our lives.

Have you found comfort in times of uncertainty? Your spouse who knows exactly the words you need to hear. The generosity of a neighbor or relative. The peace of a Savior’s empty tomb. The comfort of a song that sets your heat at ease in Jesus. The Words of God himself as he speaks tenderly to Jerusalem—and to the Treasure Valley too.

Take an inventory of comfort received today. Where does it all, ultimately, come from? The God of comfort in heaven. What do you do with that comfort? “[God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:4).

Here’s the amazing thing: When you share it, you don’t lose it. It just keeps spreading. Receive comfort from others. You need it. Share comfort with others. They need it too.

We'd love to hear from you.
