Giving

Today is Giving Tuesday Now. People are talking quite a bit about giving. We hope, if you’re able, that you can be generous and reach out to help others. This is also a time to remember the only way that true, generous giving can take place. Real generosity flows from a heart that’s full of gifts from the greatest Giver of all.

At a time when people are asking for donations, fill up on God’s gifts first. Treasure them as the precious gifts they are. Then pray about how you can say thanks.

“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights” (James 1:17).

“When God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God” (Ecclesiastes 5:19).

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).

We'd love to hear from you.
