When you need someone to fix a plumbing problem, you call a plumber. When you need someone to fix a car problem, you call a mechanic. When you need someone to fix a lighting problem, you call an electrician.
Who do you call when the troubles are bigger? Your family’s falling apart. Your dad’s dying of cancer. Your financial portfolio is concerning. You’re stuck on a work project you can’t figure out.
Do you know who says you can put him on speed dial for any of those times? God. He says, “Give me a call. Pray to me when you’re in trouble. I don’t mind. I love to hear from you. I love to come and help you out. When you’re my child, trusting in Jesus, I love to come and rescue you from any problem. Nothing’s too big; nothing’s ever a bother. I love you; give me a call.”
Oh, by the way. You can call him for all the little things, too.
“Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me” (Psalm 50:15).
