Can you believe they talk like that? Can you believe they think that and do that? Who do they think they are? They’re so self-righteous!
Wait. So are we. The human condition is quite predictable in its present state. People are selfish. People look down on each other, constantly criticize and cancel each other, and take one another’s words and actions in the worst possible way.
Except one person. Jesus. He actually had every right to be self-righteous. He was perfect when no one else was. Yet he didn’t look down on everyone else. He came down to save them. Us.
What’s the ultimate answer to self-righteousness? It’s Jesus. Not more criticism, education, or cancelling. It’s a person. The only person who was perfect and wasn’t self-righteous about it.
When you have him, he makes you humble too.
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
