Lord, this week’s tragedy in Nashville further heightens our awareness of how broken and evil our world is. Children as well as adults fall victim to unthinkable atrocities.
You promise that you see. You promise that you care. You promise to bind up the brokenhearted.
Lord, have mercy. Lord, come with your healing power. Lord, come back and make everything right.
There are people right now who are devastated with immense grief. We can’t take away their sadness. But you can overcome it. Be their comfort. Be their hope.
Your heart broke at the cross, but sadness didn’t get to win. You overcame the darkness with your goodness.
Lord, show us that sadness doesn’t get to win.
