When you’re carrying heavy burdens, when you watch the people you love suffer, or when things turn out so differently from the way you planned and dreamed they would, you want to know why.
We all do. One of the most ancient human questions asks why this is sometimes so unbelievably difficult. Why do I have to face this now?
And the harrowing silence that follows.
It’s okay to not know why. There is someone who does. When you don’t know why, you know who. The one who suffered in your place. The one who opened the path to lasting peace one day. The one who made you and rules over even the times of suffering for your ultimate good.
Jesus knows what suffering is like. He hears you when you call out to him. He understands. He walks with you and promises to get you through it.
You can trust him. Even when you don’t know why. Because you know him.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” (Psalm 23:4)
We'd love to hear from you.
