If sin is a real thing, then it validates what we’ve all been feeling. That there’s something really wrong with the world. Something desperately wrong with humanity. Something very wrong inside of us.
The reality of sin describes why it’s so destructive to live outside of the way we were designed to live. And it explains why we too often love to jump back into the destruction.
Sin is the reason we hurt. It’s the reason we fail. It’s the reason we die.
It’s all very real.
And if sin is real and powerful, Jesus must be even more real and powerful.
Because he takes away sin—all of it. And he makes us right in the end.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (1 Corinthians 5:21)
