Don’t you like having the warmth of the sun shining on you—especially in spring? Don’t you like when a person turns toward you and the warmth of their smile brightens your day? Isn’t it good to know when someone is happy to see you, delights in you, and you make them smile?
You make God smile. Really, you do. Because of Jesus and all he’s done in your place, he turns his face toward you and he lights up. He’s genuinely happy to see you. His smile brings a special kind of warmth—peace from the Son of God who makes us acceptable and worthy in God’s presence.
You might call it Sonshine.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).
