There at the Cross

Were you there when Jesus died on the cross? Were you there at the tomb to find it empty? Of course not. That was some 2,000 years ago.

What if there was a way, though, to be transported through time and get a glimpse of that history-changing weekend when Jesus died and rose? What if you could somehow personally connect to it and know that it was real and it was for you?

You can. Through baptism.

Baptism is a simple act of speaking fifteen wonderful words while washing with some water. It doesn’t take long. There aren’t any thundering voices from heaven. But an incredible thing transpires every time a baptism happens.

The person is transported to that moment some 2,000 years ago when Jesus died on the cross. And the person, spiritually speaking, dies too. Then the person is taken to the tomb on Easter Sunday and, spiritually speaking, is raised as well.

If you’ve been baptized, you’ve had your near-death experience. You were there at the cross. You were buried and raised again. You have new life. Forgiven of everything wrong and a citizen of heaven. You have a better life. One connected to the God who made you, loves, and died for you. A life that will never end.

If you haven’t been baptized, we’d be happy to talk more. You can send Cross of Christ a note here, and we’ll get in touch. Baptism is amazingly good news. It’s for you—there at the cross. And it changes your life.

“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:3-4).

We'd love to hear from you.
