When you don’t have answers, or the pain gets worse, or you’re stuck in life and you feel like God keeps waiting and waiting to do something good, where is he?
People often think of waiting on God like waiting in the doctor’s office or waiting beside the phone for it to ring. As if he’s far away and he doesn’t notice us while we wait on him.
In the Bible, it talks a lot about people who were waiting on God. God wants everyone to know what it’s really like when they don’t have answers, they sit with the pain, or they’re stuck in life.
Where is God when you’re waiting on him? Right here. Seeing the hurt with you. Holding your hand. Carrying you through.
His timing is often difficult to understand. But he’s never distant while we wait. He walks with us. He waits with us.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:2-3).
We'd love to hear from you.
