Why do people spend so much time at work providing for their families? Or at school getting an education? Or why do people spend so much money to get a decent home or reliable transportation?
Because it’s important.
Why does God, in the Bible, tell us to do other difficult thing? Like spending lots of time learning what the Bible says, believing it, and living it? Like really working on our marriages? Or disciplining our kids? Or practicing patience, gentleness, and self-control?
Because it’s important.
What God tells us is the most important. It’s worth the effort. It’s worth the sacrifice. It makes life better.
It makes us better.
“I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone” (Titus 3:8).
