This election day, we don’t have presidential candidates on the ballot. However, these less popular local elections give us time to reflect on the various leaders God gives us.
Whether they’re on school boards or city councils, whether they have great influence or little, whether we voted for them or not, our leaders need our prayers.
They have important positions. Their governance can greatly affect our lives and the well-being of our communities. They need wisdom and understanding to carry out their duties well.
That’s why the Bible tells us to give thanks for our leaders and to pray for them. Everyone in authority over us. Because we want to live in peace. We want to see prosperity for our society. Our leaders play a big role in that.
God bless our leaders!
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
We'd love to hear from you.
