What if there is an end?

Judgment Day. The end of the world. People can get obsessed with these things. But is there really going to be an end of this world as we know it? If so, what does it all mean?

If there really is a final day coming, that means history is heading somewhere. It isn’t random, but instead being guided by a higher power to a grand conclusion.

It means evil, injustice, hatred, and abuse don’t get to win. The ultimate judge is going to come, end everything wrong once and for all, and make it all right again.

It means everyone who trusts this judge has something good to look forward to—a perfect existence that is still to come. Hope for the horrible days and a guarantee of a much, much better future.

It means this life is not all that there is. Not even close. It means this life isn’t the one to be living for, but the one to come, which lasts forever.

If there really is an end of the world, that means it’s coming sometime soon. And the great difference between dreading it and looking forward to it is Jesus.

There really is an end. Put your hope in Jesus, the ultimate savior, and you’ll be just fine in the end.

No, even better, you’ll be great. You’ll live forever.

“That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:12-13)
