Being ruled by someone or something isn’t usually a nice thought. People see tyranny as
bad.
But what if we could be ruled (controlled, even) by something good? Ruling not just
externally, but guiding and directing our very hearts?
Ruled over by something like peace?
There’s a peace that comes from Jesus Christ that is only good all the time. And it’s the
perfect thing to take control of our hearts. Our worried, anxious, fearful, weak, and troubled
hearts. Jesus brings them peace. An all-encompassing, God’s-got-this, heaven-is-yours, and
God’s-not-mad-at-you kind of peace. A peace our hearts are longing for.
Wouldn’t it be great to let that kind of peace take control of our hearts?
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:15)
